At Lucky 13 Rescue we don’t focus on any specific breed—our mission is to help any dog in need, whether they’re facing abuse, abandonment, neglect, or urgent danger. Our priority is to rehabilitate each dog by placing them in nurturing foster homes, giving them a chance to recover and flourish while we work to find them a permanent, loving family.
Because we operate as a foster-based rescue, we don’t have a central facility. Instead, we depend on a compassionate network of foster homes to care for the dogs we bring in. Every dog in our program receives comprehensive medical care and behavior support. Before adoption, all dogs are spayed or neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and tested to ensure they are heartworm-negative.
We’re always in need of committed fosters and volunteers to expand our impact. Help is welcomed in areas like online support, transportation, veterinary coordination, fundraising, event organization, and—most importantly—fostering.

Lucky 13 Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, officially recognized at the federal level. It was established in August 2016 in Drexel, Missouri, and has since moved operations to the Kansas City, Missouri area to better serve homeless and neglected dogs across the KC metro and nearby rural communities.
